This is what the quote means to her:

So often do I return to the idea of being happy in my life that it has become a personal mantra I say every morning. When I was a little girl, I used to write notes to my mother with the letters "BHB." When she asked me what the letters meant, I repeated them phonetically: "bee - hah - bee!" Or, in other words, "Be Happy." I think that our personal definition of happiness is always changing, but it's always something that we can focus on when we're making a choice, forming a relationship, or living freely.
