For this week’s #Jcollab post, we have Nicole Elise @bloomcalligraphy sharing with us the quote "Be Still".
This is what the widely known quote means to her as a call and a reminder:
"Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress."
- Psalm 46:10-11
This verse has been both a call and a reminder for me to stop in my tracks and find rest in Jesus' peace. So often we become overwhelmed and burdened by the difficulties and confusion life brings. BUT, despite the unknown and unanswered questions, we can be confident that God's silence in trial isn't Him being apathetic or disinterested in what we may be experiencing. Rather, He is in the process of shaping and refining us for His purpose and His glory to be made known. By responding in "stillness" and humility we are acknowledging our trust and dependence in the Father, having assurance that He is fully at work.
